Social Marketing

Social Marketing is the combination of social bookmarking and social networking. Though they both may appear to be the same they have very unique differences. As the internet continues to grow and online business gradually increases. The need for connecting people with businesses and people with people is becoming easier and easier. The key is knowing where to go to get involved. Social marketing is similar to having a sign outside of your business. For one it allows you the freedom of expressing your business in the manner you feel best describes it. Meaning if you were running a hoagie shop it would make sense for the sign in front of your store to contain a sandwich. That way as passer byers walk by your store they know what to expect and it often even sparks up hunger. This just makes sense.

This is the same way that social marketing works. If you are looking to sell you product or service you want to be right where those seeking information are looking. That way as they browse these social sites and see an ad for your company, or a well placed article. You have given yourself another avenue for obtaining business and a long term customer.

As an added benefit to marketing on social networks and social bookmarking sites is the weight in which the average customer places on these platforms. For both an abundant amount but more so reliable source of relevant information. So if the customer feels these social areas are a great place to shop from then guess what you need to be there.
